As part of the project "National High School for All, My Right, My Place!", presented by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the admission exam was eliminated as a requirement for accessing public high school institutions in the Metropolitan Area of Mexico City. The Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education, Tania Rodríguez Mora, stated that this measure will guarantee access for middle school students.
In Delgado Carrillo's words, this initiative aims to ensure that all young people have a place and the opportunity to access education. He stressed that education is a right and not a privilege, emphasizing that there has been a significant change in the country's educational approach since 1996, promoting equality of opportunities for all.
Undersecretary Rodríguez Mora announced an alliance with universities and higher education institutions to review and update the National High School study programs. This collaboration among various entities aims to improve educational quality and offer new opportunities to students.
The General Director of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Arturo Reyes Sandoval, reported that together with UNAM they will conduct a single admission exam for high school for the 2025-2026 school year. This exam will be conducted transparently and fairly, ensuring a just process for all candidates.
